About the Church of the Annunciation

Ever since the Annunciation, when the Archangel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would bear a son, things just haven't been the same. "Hail, favored one!" was his greeting, and Scripture tells us she was much perplexed by these words. You, too, may find yourself perplexed by these words, which indicate God's love not only for Mary but also for us - for all people, no matter what our circumstance.

We believe that God wonderfully created, and even more wonderfully restored, the dignity of human nature. This is what we celebrate at the Church of the Annunciation, seeking and serving the good in everyone we encounter, loving God and our neighbor, and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ as best we are able.

We believe all things are being brought to their perfection by God's will. We work and pray to end hunger, fear, injustice, oppression, and anything else that stands in the way of God's love for the whole world. Where there is hatred, we seek to sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope. We pray that God's kingdom may come on earth, as in heaven.

These are deeply counter-cultural values, but they are the Great Commission given us by Jesus through the witness of the Gospels and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Our mission, then, is to nurture leaders who can show the world His way.

About Our Congregation

Our parish community is multi-generational and theologically diverse. We gather for divine worship to offer thanks for the many blessings God has bestowed on us, and to ask for God's continuing help for ourselves and for others. We share a rich and full parish life; we enjoy fellowship and fun together on a regular basis, we offer Sunday School to teach our children about the faith, and we offer pastoral care by both the priest and lay persons. We suport a wide variety of lay ministry opportunities. We are growing, and we invite you to grow with us.

There is a place here for you, no matter who you are or where you have been. The important thing is where you are going. Come join us as we walk the Way of the Cross, which is none other than the way of life and peace leading to eternal bliss.
